Morgan Le Fay's Mabon Cream
2 ounces in a reusable glass jar Shelf life is 6 months.
A silky cream veil for delicate facial skin.
A beautiful co-distillation, created on the first day of Autumn this year, in honor of the great Mother Goddess, the Queen of the Faeries, Queen of the Isle of Apples cool. Delicious Honeycrisp Apples, The Great Faery Queens favorite. Sweet Annie Artemisia, in full bloom, her yellow tufts of fluffy flowers perfuming the air. Oak Leaf Scented Geranium, symbolizing the color change of the mighty oaks and fall time trees, and rendering a perfume worthy for a Queen, a woody rose fragrance, elevated and diffusive. And finally the honeyed goldenrod, in full bloom, it's honey and cinnamon cake scent reminiscent of honeys golden elixir. An Autumn Melody. A melange of fall time harvests. The stunning, sweet, crisp scent that emerged from the still, hydrosol and essential oil, was spun into a rich, hydrating, moisturizing cream. It's incredible fragrance contributed only from the co-distillation used within the formula.
The plants we distilled for this Mabon hydrosol and essential oil, were not only chosen for their associations to Autumn and Morgan Le Fay, but also because of there amazing skin benefits. The fragrance is delightful, sweet tones of crisp fruit, sweet flowers, and warm herbs. It smells of fall time botanicals, of Autumn.
Apple, used here in an appropriate, low concentration, provides gentle exfoliation, helping to increase skin cell turnover, and reveal smooth, healthy skin. It also nurtures skin cells, assisting in the growth of new, healthy skin cells. Artemisia has recently been discovered by main stream skincare, but something I have been using in my skincare for almost a decade. There are many varieties of Artemisia, and here I have used the most gentle, soothing variety, A. annua, aka Sweet Annie. Sweet Annie Artemisia is antibacterial, antifungal, anti-inflammatory, and helps to heal skin issues by reducing swelling and redness, and it's antimicrobial properties help to heal acne. Oak Leaf Rose Geranium is mildly astringent and antimicrobial, it helps to remove dead skin cells, clean pores, and ultimately tightens and brightens skin. Goldenrod is historically used in skincare. It's anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and studies have shown it is excellent for preventing build up of aging and dead skin cells. It accelerates skin cell turnover, and is known to combat fine lines and discoloration. These plants are blooming and fruiting in unison, and in this cream, they come together to form a powerful, synergistic combination which not only calms redness, helps to heal and prevent acne, but also is anti-aging, by clearing clogged pores, congestion, which tightens pores, accelerates skin turnover, promoting new, healthy skin growth, and reducing sun spots, discoloration, and fine lines.
The formula in which the co-distillations magic is infused, is created with highly nourishing and antioxidant rich, cold pressed, organic oils of; pumpkin seed, plum seed, and jojoba is combined with Ecocert plant derived emulsifier. To give the cream a luxurious, non-tacky, non-greasy feel, I've included a 100% plant based Eco-silicone. This formulation is properly preserved with a natural, Ecocert preservative, to prevent microbial growth, for stability, and shelf life.
